Pack Committee Meeting - This Wednesday, February 1, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM we will hold our regular monthly pack committee meeting. It will take place at the new scout house. Hope to see everyone there.
USS Kidd Overnight - This Friday, February 3, is our annual overnight campout aboard the USS Kidd. We will meet at the USS Kidd at 6:00 PM on Friday evening. Make sure you have eaten prior to showing up. The cost of the outing is $21.00 per person. The whole family is invited to attend, however there is a minimum age limit of 6 years old. Bring a pillow and sleeping bag with you and get ready for some fun. No food or drinks are allowed below deck once on the Kidd but you can bring an ice chest that will be left on the main deck. There will be a ship tour, scavenger hunt and engine room tour. We will also be able to participate in the flag raising ceremony on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM and a HAM radio demonstration. All aboard for fun!
Scout Sunday - This coming Sunday, February 5, is Scout Sunday. All scouts and their families are encouraged to attend the 11:30 AM mass at St. George. We ask that scouts wear their full class A uniform and arrive at 11:00 AM so we can line up for the procession in to church. We really want to have a good turnout for this event so that the parish can see how strong our Scouting program is so please plan on attending if at all possible.
Fire Safety Pack Meeting - Our February pack meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 15, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the cafeteria at St. George. We will have some special guests from teh St. George fire department to teach the scouts about fire safety. Remember that dress for the pack meetings is full class A uniform.
We are off to a great start this scouting year. We are welcoming more than 40 new scouts and their families into Pack 136. I think that you will all feel right at home in our pack and want to be the first to say Welcome to each and every one of you.
Our first pack meeting was a great success. Thanks to all of the leaders who helped to make it happen. We are about to get busy with a lot of events. The pack calendar has been updated through November and we will be adding more dates to it real soon. In the meantime here is what should be the final dates for all of the events for the 2011 - 2012 scouting year.
